There is a lot of US bashing on this board for it's tasteless porn products. I've found good and bad on both sides of the pond. However, I will concede I spend more on euro porn that US products. I hate fake tits with a passion and yes US porn is loaded with fake transvestite looking bimbos. The US market is targeted at a lower standard of mass consumption. Many posters on this board I would consider connoisseurs of porn, not consumers. More refined taste than the masses. So my theory is that successful porn producers do not target the discriminating taste of Connoisseurs, but the mass market of the under informed consumers.

Also consider how brutal porn has become to women. It is the dominant genre in US and euro porn. This genre was made popular by the likes of Rocco and the infinitely overrated Nacho(weak popshot) Vidal. CC may have helped with the Hardball line, but it was more enjoyable for me then the other two by far. So if the US ruined your porn with fake tits I will give Europe credit for the masochistic epidemic that preceded it. Thanks a lot.

The world is forgetting what capitalism really is... Yeah I know it begins with a harsh K sound, has some more harsh consonants, and ends with -ism, kinda makes one think of the other -isms, communism, fascism, authoritarianism, totalitarianism.

Capitalism is the system where you have the freedom to create whatever product you want to, and charge whatever price you want. Then on the other side, consumers have the freedom to buy whichever product they want. Capitalism is designed to keep most political influence out of the marketplace.


You speak as if you disapprove of capitalism, so curious what economic model would you be in favor of instead? Capitalism gave us a porn industry. Capitalism gave us dvds. Capitalism gave us the internet. Capitalism drove Soviet Russia out of Czech & Hungary.


When you say "There is nothing anyone can do about." You are wrong. You have the freedom to create your own product, and the next person has the freedom to buy your product. If nobody wants to buy your product, is that capitalism's fault? Is it the U.S.'s fault? The biggest problems I see in the world today is that the masses put too much value in dollars instead of people - but even more than that they have a lost the ambition to create. We expect other people to do the work for us. If there is a product one wants, go out and create it instead of sitting around hoping someone else will create it for you.



Oh, and let's also not confuse what porn is to most people - a quick masturbatory aid. What are you hoping they become "informed" in?

My point was that capitalism doesn't produce the best products, just the ones that sell enough for the producers to survive. I was using a different criteria for success. And I will make no defense of communism, nor did I intend to make this a thread about economic systems.

I looked up the definition of capitalism on Wikipedia - "Through capitalism, the land, labor, and capital are owned, operated, and traded for the purpose of generating profits, without force or fraud....." I would argue that the fraud in capitalism has the ability to destroy it beyond recongnition, and possibly has. And I would make a case that there is an element of force when the powerful dictate the regulatory framework by constantly claiming free market principals of de-regulation. Maybe that's a problem with a weakened democracy, not capitalism. I can concede that point.

Becoming a porn producer doesn't fit into my lifestyle, but I once considered it. I also think my taste are outside the mainstream and not much consumer demand. You know beautiful natural women not getting the shit kicked out of them. Kinda lame huh?

I've only just read this, and understanding what your saying better now. However I think the other hand of it is, when people start watching porn especially with the likes of the INTERNET.
