Its an interesting and ultimately nice idea that work and fun go together. However, how many people can honestly say that what they do for work is exactly what they aspired to be. I would think the number is low.
Its the same in the porn industry as with any other. The money vs work will generally be the true answer is 9 out of 10 cases. There is always the exception and those are notably those people who go beyond the requirements of the job and create something breathtaking.
I have spent time watching models on and off the camera and I can from personal experience tell you that the models are generally happier when not in front of the camera.
Its also important to remember that in the porn industry the models generally create different persona's for themselves and become that persona when either working or meeting fans.
Most people who totally love the work they do are so involved in it that it becomes their entire life and they are actively doing it throughout their waking hours. I am kinda sure that most models would not leave the set and rush home to play with the biggest dildo they can find.
The porn industry is a fantasy world created in order to satisfy other peoples fantasies. Its fun on set and I do not dispute that but its usually scripted and directed. The fun is usually from funny incidents that happen and the crazy antics of the performers.
Its also worth noting that the average shooting day would start at around 6-8am in the morning and finish late in the evening. I attended a two day shooting for a planned Kovi website where 13 scenes were created during those two days. One of the models had to make an appearance in all 13 scenes and I can tell you that towards the end of the second day that model was totally burned out. I'm pretty sure that the model in question would not have been overly enthusiatic about the notion of work = fun during at that particular time
