Omar & Aspen

Some of you will have noticed that Omar Galanti has moved up from Buttman Magazine Choice, to full Evil Angel status. Why was this done? I would guess because his movies are selling well. I got an example of this over the weekend.

My latest fascination is the Russian girl Aspen. The previews for Omar's A View to a Gape make her look irresistible in her bunny outfit. Lana Blond looks really hot too, so I decided to pick up the DVD while in Manhattan for the day on Saturday. I stopped by my usual store, at the corner of 4oth and 8th Ave., across from the Port Authority Bus Terminal. They had NO copies of A View to a Gape or of Omar's more recent full EA title Queen of Gapes. I checked three other DVD shops in the area, and none of them had them either.

I also noted that my usual shop had by far the best selection and prices. This store gets in all the new releases, especially from EA and JJ. They had a total of about 5 copies left of three of Omar's Buttman Magazine Choice DVDs. But no View of Queen, those had sold out. This isn't scientific, but it does suggest that Stagliano didn't make a random choice in promoting Omar.

The Evil Angel scenes site DOES have A View to a Gape, along with other material I wanted to catch up on. So I joined that over the weekend, and have now seen the Aspen and Lana Blone scenes. Both are quite good, but Aspen really shines. Here's a clue as to what makes Omar successful. Aspen is obviously excited to work with him. I've checked out some of her other scenes, here and there, and no where else can you see in her eyes the same look of determination. She wants to please this guy and enjoys sucking and fucking him. He brings out the best in her, somewhat like what Rocco does with many girls. Omar may not be the handsomest man, but his machismo turns girls on, and the butt-play and gaping in his movies is what many viewers want to see. So getting good performances from hot women, with lots of anal antics equals a winning combination.

Now I'm going to check out more of Omar's movies via Evil Angel's site.

Good post Speelie. I was going to post this next bit in my DVD purchase thread at some point but it seems more appropriate I post it here.

Personally I take the complete opposite view as I can't watch anything with Galanti in it, he's ruined so many scenes that on paper just couldn't fail. I have no issue whatsoever with his looks, it's the aggression he brings to his scenes that I just find to be totally heat-killing.

Worst example (and final straw for me with him) was Jazz Duro's Cheek Freaks 5, which I picked up quite recently. He's in the last 2 scenes and totally kills them. The 3rd scene with Chloe Delaure I would go so far as to say is the absolute nadir for modern porn. Chloe is fantastic throughout the scene, ultra hot and clearly desperate for cock. Galanti isn't happy with just giving her what she wants and having a whale of a time with a superb babe though - early in the scene during doggie with her pinned against a chair he places his hand across her mouth and nose for what is a really worrying length of time (I haven't counted but 10 seconds maybe?) Chloe's eyes visibly widen in shock/horror, she seems (not unreasonably) petrified and looks shaken for a good minute or so after he finally allows her to breathe. It's impossible to watch that moment without musing on how easy it would have been for the obviously physically strong Galanti to kill her if he wanted (or just messed up his timing). There's some great anal later in the scene (thanks more to Chloe's heat than Galanti's average piston-hammering) but Galanti just acts like a total thug throughout and it amounts to a totally unusable scene IMHO.

He's in the final scene as well and goes straight for Cathy Campbell and Virginee's throats while fucking them in missionary on a couch. Cathy takes it reasonably in her stride but again Virginee looks quite startled and it kills at least some of her slutty enthusiasm for the rest of the scene.

The way those 2 scenes started (hot-as-hell babes radiating wanton lust through the screen) it just seemed impossible to create anything other than greatness. It's a total "WTF?" porn moment. Despite having a good Simony scene earlier (without Galanti, natch) this 1 went straight into my "reject" DVD wallet.

Even when he isn't behaving as reprehensibly as that towards the girls, he's generally clowning around or doing something else annoying to take away from his utterly mediocre sex performance.

Not that surprised to hear that his stuff sells well but he's up against precious little opposition in the current porn DVD market IMHO. He has the "connects" and length of time in the biz to sign up the best girls, that's absolutely the only reason he even has an audience.

Hi Vulture, after some of our exchanges, I think you and I see different things in the movies we watch! That isn't criticism, just an observation, and three other people might have three more different views! I do think the director plays a part in setting the tone, because I don't see that roughness in anything I've watched recently involving Omar.

Instead, I've seen Rihanna Samuel very excited by him in Puppet Master 10. Logan has been in several Galanti-directed movies, so she must know him well by now, and has great chemistry with Omar in Rocco's Xtreme Gapes. And earlier today I watched Lana Blond's scene from Mad Professor. It was pretty good, and like the others I mentioned, didn't have roughness. As a guess, Omar may have figured out that the roughness was turning off some girls and some viewers, and has decided to tone things down a bit. And/or, maybe Jazz wanted him to to act edgy. I don't really know, but I might well be turned off also by what you watched. I've just enjoyed what I've seen Omar in recently, and found it a bit surprising, to be honest!

for Speelie: I am glad they upgraded him, but the price to pay is no more anal creampies in Omar movies.

for Vulture: I sometimes feel the same about Omar, but in generally the girls seem to like his style, also those clown aspects, and many are really hot for him. Speelie rightly refers to their eyes while fucking Omar. Its often really incredible - that`s lust seldom met in porn these days!
I also think he has toned down a bit recently, but than Omar wasnt always agressive. He has his ups and downs with it, it seems.

Finally let me refer to two really great early Omar scenes: Melissa Black in Puttane Italiane (Rabbit) and Liliane Tiger in Tre Passare Rotte in Culo (Topax)

Difficult to show with these caps, but Omar playes a really layed back role here and it soon becomes clear that Liliane does it all for him
basically. She really does enjoy his presence, which is nicely shown in the bts. Omar here works together with his later biz friend Giorgio Grandi.
