I don't know for sure....but it's quite possible.

Blue Angel was "close" to him..and she is known to smoke cigarettes.

As an aside, Manuel Ferrera is a non-smoker. He was telling me some stories of his off-camera hook-ups as we walked around the Adult Expo together, years ago. I asked him if he was bothered in kissing and making out with so many girls who had ashtray mouths from smoking. He said no, he was just glad they were willing to kiss him!

At the same show, I walked past two guys standing on the side, looking lost and confused. It was Centauro with Yan Scott. I welcomed them to the USA and they posed for a photo with me. It's the only contact I've ever had with either of them.

I'm afraid this might be a warning to other porn performers, mainly men, because, if they take Viagra, and they also smoke, it can strain the heart. Really, he was too young to die, but as well as sexual health (monitoring for STDs), porn performers need to have their blood pressure monitored. People (usually men, because women have essentially stronger hearts, due to them being able to carry babies, as it were, they have to pump blood for two when pregnant) who die young from heart failure, if they have no hereditary weakness, are often smokers.
