Trying out the double-view player but it dosent seem to recognize files i have downloaded on my own, is there no way to point it to those files?

Nope, you have to download special files from doubleviewplayer. Regular wmv files wouldn't work.

Painfully slow downloads using the doubleviewplayer. Just taken me 4 hours to d/l one 800 Mb file using it.
