My favourite porn mirrors real life sex in that the woman is in complete control of the situation (ie she decides sex is to take place) and the heat comes as she relinquishes control and the man takes over. This seemed to be perfectly captured at the turn of the decade (by Private and Marc Dorcel especially) but we've moved away from that.

What we have now are the episodes you seem to favour where the camera starts rolling already past the idea that sex is to take place, eg you have a semi-naked girl on a couch and guys already with their dicks out, who proceed to fuck but also manhandle/abuse the girl. It's porn celebrating being porn. I accept there is a place for that (although I think it was born out of cheap production values and a sort of "budget" approach to the genre) but it is now too widespread.

Real life sex isn't like that unless you're a gonzo porn actor yourself so I think as a viewer once you're past the initial feeling of "Oh wow they're skipping the tease intro....this is great!" you sort of don't have anywhere to go with that style. This, I think, is where the male aggression comes in. The directors feel they have to "up the ante" a bit. Aggressive Gonzo is the new Gonzo.

Anyway, for me the woman's role in porn is more complex than you describe. She should be confident, in control, radiate heat and then submit herself for the pleasure of not only the guys but herself. The best porn (IMHO) can do this to the point where you forget you're watching porn - it has a fly-on-the-wall, voyeuristic tone. The director should be expert enough to cast only women who can do this and be aware that they are the scene's driving force. Girls who are not fully sexually aware or sexually confident should be disregarded although these, obviously, are the manna from heaven of the gonzo director.

So basically if you approach porn with your attitude to the girls I think you're doomed to mediocre product. Just my opinion.

This is why good porn is so hard to make, I guess. I think there are very, very few good porn makers out there right now compared to 10 years ago.
