There is a kill fee to avoid situations like that. Unfortunly, it's American thing. We're too "amateur " in Europe with money of other people. I think, a kill fee must be introduced for both sides : performers and producers/photographers. I hate to be cancelled, because another model didn't show up and the company can't shoot me alone. Or photographer is too lazy to drive by rainy day. I am not talking about health issues, but most of cancellations are jokes. And I've never understood any model who accepts the job and cancels on a short notice. It would be easy to tell NO from the beginning
