Is it easy to open a paypal account? ....does anyone know if there are restriccion with people from New york? ...I really don't get this paypal guys I'm trying to open a paypal account for two day now and I can't...First I get a stupid error window when I try to open a personal account (That the info: City, State, Zip code is missing) ...and I say stupid 'cos there is actually NOT information missing (!?!) ..I type exactly the same information when I buy dvds from internet video shops and never had any problem with my info. ..what is worst when I try to get in touch with paypal using customer service...I get a window asking me to LOG IN (!?!) ...how the heck I'm going to do that if I'm not able to open an account in the first place......weird stuff, if you are not a member you basicly can not talk to this fuckers (Its really frustating). ...Is it really so hard to open a paypal account??? ...someone please?

Opening Paypal's account works fine.

I tried to open an account as I lived in NYC, no problem.

I just have filled in name and adress lines with zip code and validated the account, Paypal warned me only for blank lines after zip code.

Maybe verify your zip code !

paroxysmia thats exactly the kind of error window I get, the only difference is that my error window tells me the conbination of my CITY, STATE, ZIP CODE is not valid or it doesn't match (!?) ....But as your example of opening a Premier Account I too type CITY:New York STATE: NY ZIP CODE: 11373 (which is my actual zip code and the one I have always used) ...thats the weird part, I just don't get it. ..I'm typing my info right but for Paypal is incorrect (!?)

I have your solution. And i dont work for Paypal.

Your zip code is 11373 and matches with the small city Elmhurst in Queens county (NY state):

So if you type this city instead of New York, that will work.

It worked, thanks!! ...but very weird this paypals guys anyway, who the hell is going to think they see Elmhurst as a City, they are the only ones in the whole internet that see it that way....I have another problem (yes I know I'm a pain in the ass) ...but it happens that I have a debit/savings account with my american bank and paypal wants a fucking checking account number, they want a 9 digits account # I have a 10 digits accounts #.

I think Paypal system considers Elmhurst as a city not a neighborhood in NYC, but it's not illogical because your zip code is this one of Elmhurst, not all NYC.

Paypal asks to add a bank account or credit card to authentify your PP premier account.

To add a bank account you need to enter the routing number (9 digits) and the account number (3 to 17 digits depending on your US bank).

Maybe watch one of your checks to notice them.

Tip: if you have a 9-digit account number and Paypal asks a 10 or 11-digit account number, type 0 before your one.
Eg: 123456789 (9#) -> 00123456789 (11#)

On my screenshot it's clearly asked a 3 to 17-digit account number. So verify you don't swap rounting number & account number.

If you have some problems, maybe you can try to register your credit card instead of bank account. Perhaps it's easier.
