Yep, the new law was voted and enters in effect in late august of this year.

Top cool, it's done, the law against porn has been voted and comes into effect August 29, 2012.

6 years in jail for porn in Russia! They just won a tourist more because I do not think I will shoot any more porn over there!
Long live to the return to the Middle Ages ...

the new law will be applicated from 29-02-2012. Now any porno producer working in Russia can get 2-6 years of prison rathe than penalty (the case of previous law).

Well it is not going to change the market so drastically. People will still shoot it but it is going to become under-underground. That is my opinion, but it is a loss anyway. It will be more glamor, we will not see huge gapes from Russian girls and no kinky stuff from motherland.
Anyway you still can "import" a girl from Russia to Hungary for example.

I was about to post on the same thing. I think the porn production is going to be seriously affected in Russia. The country has a history of, how to put it politely, being rough.

Big names like Rocco, Giorgio and Woodman are not going to risk going there. Woodman has already said so on his forum.

Ofcourse, pornbabes can go to CZ and Hungary to shoot, or shoot underground. But what if the gov/some ambitious politician decides to make an example of some performer and producer. This is a country where journalists and powerful businessmen have been killed/ in jail. So porn ppl are small fry.

Add to this the rise of right-wing in Hungary. Plus as of now porn is already illegal in Ukraine. So we are pretty much left with Czech and Romania. Unless more women from PIIGS (Portugal, Ireland, Italy, Greece, Spain )start doing porn.

Thank you for posting information on the porn ban in Russia on this forum.

Obviously this is a new and interesting development.
While some people here voice strong opinions on the matter, I prefer to stay neutral.

A country like Russia may seem surprisingly "modern" or "Western" in certain respects,
but if you look deeper there remain enormous differences in mentality etc. Furthermore
I don't see porn as a positive economic activity for former East-block countries....
Hence if Russian politicians want a ban on porn (on moral grounds?), then I accept
this fact with a neutral and detached mind-set.

The bad thing is that price of other girls from Romania, Hungary or other states will rise and it will be harder to do it. My opinion again.

The way to do it will be found as always. The market changes as the law change but we will not feel it. The new laws are not the thing that should worry us, is the piracy that will destroy porn industry. When there is no return in invested that is the day when porn dies.

I also think they find ways around, but the question of a possible price rise still remains. Piracy is a sad fact, but it seems the comparably cheap Russian fees made porn productions still economically viable.

I searched some more on internet about this new law, and it appears to be something totally different as is stated here.
It is a law that blocks "naughty websites" in Russia, not a law that chases people who work in the porn business.

Yesterday I spoke with Giorgio about it. Porn in Russia (making, distributing, selling) = ILLEGAL, period.
So It's over in a couple of months.
