Yeah I'm pleased with this. I didn't lose any sleep when Max Hardcore was convicted as having seen a few of his movies I thought he was a pretty vile mysogynist who brought a lot of needless flak to the industry and played fast and loose with the boundaries of what is and isn't acceptable adult material IMHO. But having seen and enjoyed tons of Stagliano's stuff I felt that the case against him might be a bit more suspect and mean-spirited and also potentially very damaging to the industry if it went against him. It seems that good sense has prevailed and I send my congrats to John and his team.

sounds like good news.. and i'm personally reliefed that all charges against stagliano and evil angel are dismissed. anyway, i guess it's important to point out that stagliano and his company didn't win, but that the prosecution lost - due to some, let's say, procedural errors.

the consequence is that there won't be any appeal of a higher court, no possibility to set a precedent, and that means that the obscenity-issue in contemporary america remains unsolved again. i'm afraid it will be a matter of time until some major porn-producer will be accused of this spongy and anachronistic delict.

on the other hand i guess (and hope) directors and producers will push the limits of kinky porn in the next months and years, so that the acceptance of edgy porn gets substantiated by sales and therefor by the community's desire.

Good news for the US adult industries.

Great news, met stagliano in Barcelona, came away with a real good opinion of the guy. I'm glad this bullshit was dropped having shit like that to deal with is going to be stressful.
