That's the whole point though. How can you when you have no idea on the style and feel of the film
until you buy it? It's 1 thing buying a DVD and being a little disappointed with some of the camerawork, chemistry etc. but when I buy a porn DVD and find it has throat-grabbing etc. it is simply DEAD to me as an erotic tool before the camera even rolls and I feel very cheated. As someone who doesn't like throat-grabbing how do I avoid it? It is something that I think should be a fetish, whereas it is now endemic in "mainstream" porn.
You can't say "Oh well just enjoy the look of the women", the feel of the sex is utterly crucial to my enjoyment.
And this was never a problem between about 2000-2006 so I refuse to accept that I should just "get used to it". I never will. I don't see why I should have to. Porn has lost me as a customer if it can't separate aggressive male behaviour from non-aggressive male behaviour within its product.
