Agreed, they are quite ridiculous. No doubt Eve A is a remarkably beautiful girl, but yeah, very surprising that she was recognized by AVN What did she actually do last year that got their attention

I was happy that Amber Rayne won as "Unsung Performer" She's a consistently great anal performer who is highly regarded as a professional and as a person by her colleagues (even tho i'm not really into the sort of dominant role playing she often does).

Also, tho i would have voted for Missy Stone as "Newcomer", Stoya is also quite a talent: pale, svelte & gothy, like Sasha Grey, but prettier imo (From what i can infer, Stoya seems to be of at least partial Serbian parentage.)

Otherwise, the event appears to have been a flop this year. Yeah, this girl's star is definitely rising, with or without the AVN. It's a pretty bogus affair, to be sure but it's still the big one in the US, unfortunately Not very transparent either, i mean in terms of the nomination and voting process etc. Who's actually involved Is there independent oversight

Of course, even for mainstream, the Academy Awards, Cannes & Berlin etc are problematic.. Maybe the Golden Globes are the most satisfactory. Maybe someday the industry will evolve to the point where there is something like a legitimately constituted academy or a guild of critics or credentialed press corps..

As for a People's Choice sort of comprehensive internet poll, I think there may be several attempts underway to do something like this properly (there are tons of porn polls on various sites all the time, but they're completely parochial, like ours). The problem with those is there cant be repeat voting like in "American Idol" or US sports "All-Star" contests.. So i dunno
