We must consider that naturally blonde is quite rare in world population. I never saw a blonde Chinese or asian, Indian or african. Also in sub-tropic countries it is uncommon. So maybe thats why blondes are prefered beside that it gives a woman a more vulnerable and submissive look.

I think I read somewhere that in prehistoric times, in North Western Europe there was a shortage of men, who died early when hunting dangerous animals for food and so an oversupply of women existed.
